What if Vincent van Gogh were a contemporary artist?
In the summer of 2022, creatives worldwide immersed themselves in the world of Vincent van Gogh. With his broad oeuvre and iconic masterpieces as a source of inspiration, they have given their favorites a new look.
Designers and artists were given complete creative freedom to translate Vincent's work into the present. And the result is impressive; the specially designed for IXXI Van Gogh 21st Century collection!

In addition to eternal fame in the IXXI collection, a special place has been made available in the museum café 'Le Tambourin' for 3 favorite designs. As a contemporary artist, you can't get closer to the grand master himself. IXXI and the Van Gogh Museum each chose a favorite, but the public also made themselves heard by voting.

The winning designs have been bundled in the Rijksmuseum 2.0 collection, a number of which can now count themselves among the bestsellers.
We are proud of the modern variants that have arisen from this and the large network of creatives that made this challenge a great success!
