Carla was heavily influenced as a child by the illustrators of children's books. Spending her teen years in Africa further shaped her love for creating art for kids. She has a particular passion for drawing animals, especially jungle animals, with their unique colors and patterns. Being Irish adds a comical twist to her work, as she enjoys humor, which is often reflected in her art.
