Three things are open to you that a poster or a print cannot offer: zooming, cropping and rotating. Between them they decide what ends up hanging.
Zoom in on the part you actually want
Love the flowers, less keen on the vase? Zoom in on the part you do want. You choose which section of the image reaches your wall, and how large it becomes.
The same painting gives you two completely different walls: the whole still life, or a single rose up close.
If you want it to carry the room, push the width and height until it fills the wall. That is not a special edition — the size grows with the number of cards.
Crop it to the shape of your wall
Most walls are not the size of a standard print. A narrow strip beside a door, a wide field above a sideboard, an awkward corner where nothing fits: you set the proportions yourself, landscape or portrait.
And when cropping would waste the image, turn the whole thing ninety degrees instead. That often produces a composition you did not see in the original orientation.
Where does it stop?
Not at the overall size: that grows with the number of cards. It stops at the cards themselves. They come in 10x10 cm and 20x20 cm, and the two cannot be combined within one IXXI. So you settle on one card size, and everything after that is yours.
Why is any of this possible?
Because we are not a poster shop. Every card is printed once you order — on demand, card by card. There is no stock in standard sizes for your wall to accommodate.
It is also why little material goes to waste: what you choose is what gets made, and nothing beyond it.
Where is the easiest place to start?
Images with a lot of detail or a continuous pattern hold up at any crop, which makes them the forgiving ones to experiment with: still life and abstract.
